Final Crit!!!

I thought I would never reach this day... and.. now.. I have made it past it... still alive...
I slept like never b4... sooooo nice to not have to wake up to an alarm clock...

and... thx for all those who wished me the best for my finals... i think i did well!!! thx!! and... i'm so happy cuz.. i went to check mail last night... and got another letter... i cant believe friends remember to send me mail .. i'm pleased ... reading the mail put a tear in my eyes... its nice to know those far away still care... you know who u are.. thx...

and.... now... looks like i have a few days of hard work still till i leave here... more work ahead... so.. all of u.. hang in there.. i'll be seeing those in toronto soon enough... laters

hihi everyone, miss my weekly posting?... sorry guys... i've been so busy... but.. tonight.. finally i finished my presentation tonight... so i want to take a break.. and post my drawing i finished last week!
well.. as u can see... it seems incomplete with the emptiness doesnt it... well... perhaps recconsider that idea.... and value void/space as necessary elements towards depth and layering... without darkness there is no light... without void... there is no drawing

but.. best part... dinner afterwards!! finally.. i tried the ethiopian food.. its neat! eat with hands!!! lets get eating:

Life Drawing update!

ok.. the weekly life drawing:

as most ppl can see.. i added more blues... more cold tones... its not just blues.. its grays... and greens.. to balance out the drawing.. and add more depth....again.. i worked on quite a few areas... hard to just tell u exactly.. u guys can compare it to the previous posts.. haha... but.. below is a new pose i added:

i added a male head.. and more stuff along the bottom left... and the arm on the right for the body with the butt... and added a arm/hand at the foot of the butt... so... comments anyone?

"small" people.... 小人

in chinese... we use "small people" (literal translation) to label those in the story below:

actually... i dun believe i should go into the details of the incident... but perhaps... summarize the morals of the story....

isnt it amazing how people can twist the truth into gossip... just because the truth is something they rather not believe... or they are too jealous to believe...so what do they do?... they turn the story upside down.. and spread it like gossip...

just because of jealousy or lack of their own merit/judgment ... gossip spreads like wild fire and weeds... there is a poem in chinese: 野 火 燒 不 盡 , 春 風 吹 有 生 "fire cannot destory all weeds, for spring wind blows upon new sprouts"... i love this poem for it signifies exactly this situation...

weeds are the small people/the jealousy... they will always be around.. nothing can extinguish them... for gossip will always be spread like the spring wind... that fertilizes the small people !!!

conclusion: i am always the water... perhaps it is me.. that helps to grow/create jealousy in the small people... or.. it is me who destroys the fire that is unable to eliminate the weeds... in the end... i should just go with the flow... and reflect in my own pond of water

hehe... i liked mabel's answer... i think in some degree i agree with her... its really hard to say which one u would choose...or.. i would choose... i think its an unfair question actually... cuz... women in general are never or.. can never be satified with what they have... haha... so.. in a way.. i think this question could only be answer with... "all of the above"... haha

but... to be honest... i dun believe u get to choose... its all a matter of fate... what u get is what u get... u can never ask for something... of course... u can make some choices... but for me... i really dunno anymore... i dont believe there is any sort i choose over another... i'm beginning to doubt i know what kinda men is good for me... but... what i do know is... i'm a 大女人... so.. going up against a 大男人, might not work so well!!!

but who knows... anything can happen...

hehe.. my prof lecturing me b4 the life drawing session tonight... not really lecturing gea... he means no harm... i totally respect him... at least i know what to do now :P.. in studio i mean... ya.. he was lecturing me on studio stuff... ok la... its good comments... positive... about life drawing... its easy compared to studio... its a long 2 hours... each week... but i enjoy it... its somewhat relaxing.. for the mind... but totally sore for the body... especially the shoulders... sooo sore ><

so... i havent had much time to do testings yet... plus... the weather has not been nice to me... i'm hoping the weekend will be nice... i'll try to spend a few hours at least playing.. haha... so.. because anita was still around this past weekend... we went to vincent/jerry's to play mahjong... with a new set of mahjong ray got from "women street" in hk... haha the box is nice and all.. but the mahjong...sigh... no need further explanation.. haha... anyways.. below are a few testing shots with my camera... to add a note... i'm new to this digi slr stuff... it will get better :P

i should be resting.. taking a nap.. and not sitting here blogging... i wanted to reconnect with the rest of u who reads this... once school starts.. i really forget to connect... its been hard trying to even get stable internet connectivity... its annoying.. but i think they've fixed/fixing it...

so.. its October... already! ... (my god)... and.. i've already pulled how many late nighters? last night was up till 4 am... it should be this morning... sigh... i think i'm already back into my routine of things... its getting comfortable... i'm enjoying work... why am i such a workoholic?... i've already decided... this coming weekend.. i'm gonna be a shopoholic.... i want to go shopping desperately... nothing better than going back to Toronto!!! yah!

i truly enjoy being here... in ottawa... alone... (sort of)... by alone.. i think i mean without ties... ties... by those you're "bound" to... (ie. family)... it lifts great stress off of me to not be bound... for those that remember my grade 10 art work with ms. chan... will know what i mean... for those who dont... look in the year book :) (thx janine for reminding me of this)... i think i was aware of what i really need.. even 10 years ago... thats just insane... i was so intune already with my subconscious...

so.. enough of this silly reflecting... looking forward >>> Berne, Switzerland: January 1!!!
thats only 3 months away.... so far... yet so close... right now.. the studio is just filled with DSA spirit... no one wants to focus and work... i know i cant... every other day... i find myself google travelling to swiss... i'm just 2 clicks away to google earth-ing swiss... its silly.. i know... but about swiss.. i dunno too much yet... i will update everyone as soon as i know more... i wish more ppl can come with me!!! travelling/architecture/sketching/drawings/photography... all the things i love.... and... they told us.. we're going as "researchers"... and we explore/document our research by means of drawings... sounds so professional.. haha

i cant help it but laugh... >> selina = researcher? >> no.. doesnt fit

anyways... back to reality... there is still so much more to do b4 friday comes... but i know we'll be there b4 we know it... work hard... then play hard!!!... toronto... food... sleep... sing k... shopping... here i come!!!!

today... i visited the site for my studio project ...
~ some how, being alone in the wilderness, wandering... so does your mind... the free rural farmlands of cumberland revealed to me new things i've never seen b4, while at the same time reviving old memories, of those you love and miss... the voices, the laughter, the stories, the sillyness of the past... perhaps every site has its soul... and it tries to speak to you its story as you wander through it ~

.... and in doing so... the spirit of your soul answers back with your own stories... echoing... somethings will never go away... it is what makes us human... you are who you are now... because of who you were....
