Jan 14 ~ end of 2nd week in bern
once again its the weekend... its the second weekend..so fast... already 2 weeks of the 12 weeks here have past.... that means 1/6 done... only 5/6 to go... noooooo!
i dun wanna go home... home sucks... ottawa sucks.. toronto sucks... compared to the fun i'm having here... no wonder ppl say.. they want to have DSA forever... i will say that too..!!!
well.. lets not mention going home so soon... to recap this past week... studio work has started to roll... for those who have been reading/staying in tune with the swiss blog will have noticed all the new posts there.... i've been working on 'details of bern'... thats the first studio assignment... and.. we had our first crit on friday.... it went well.. see the pics...
the entire week was spent mostly on checking out different parts of the town... wandering.. looking at possible details... its been fun... relaxing... i checked out different bus routes... and went to thrift shops... found chinese supermarkets... (food is always good)...
yesterday... (sat)... is the day off.. and it was the best weather since my arrival... i think the high was at least 10 degrees... i took the opportunity to go to 'the gurten'... a park up on the mountain around bern... its a very romantic park... saw lots of lovers making out :P... felt like i was intruding... oops... anyways... it was beautiful... perfectly clear skies to see the city.. and the alps... must see the pics on blog..!!! so... up on the top.. theres an observation tower too... it rises above the trees and gives u an even better view of the surrounding... i spent a long time on/in/around the tower... then.. the best view of the alps is actually to the most eastern part of the hill... there.. the trees are cleared.. only grass and a downward slope... so.. there's a perfect clearing for the alps... absolutely the most beautiful spot to sit and ponder... i sat there for a while.. sketching... i didnt want to leave...
so.. after that... i continued to other parts of town... there's this other good point that also over looks the old city... i went there to watch the sunset... then... trekked to the lower town... by the river to have a more detailed look at some of the details....then... i headed home... cooked a good dinner for myself.. yummy!!! then i slept in till 10 this morning... the longest sleep i've had since i got here... it was sweet!!!
and today... just do some work... write a summary... go to studio to get the readings... strolled town for a bit... bought some little things here and there... and.. on to updating all the blogs... ehhe... so.. enjoy!!! recap again next week :)

Jan 7 ~ Guten tag!
its been a week since i departed... but somehow it feels much longer than 7 days... perhaps its learning to live in a new environment, the adapting, the new, the challenges, the excitement that makes every second of life that much more interesting and appear that much longer, therefore stretching time out :P
i know i'll definitely like bern... i will always remember this city... in general the people are nice here... sometimes a little grumpy... but nice... i wouldnt say friendly... i think canadians are more welcoming... i met the guy that lives across the hallway from me... he's not swiss... Evans, is really nice... and it happens so that he was at Carleton this time last year... and so was i... what a coincidence... i should also thank him for the chocolate he got me yesterday...
so...in the past week... i've been jet lagging... unable to sleep... but... managed to navigate my way perfectly now... through the city... no problem with getting the wrong directions now... i havent taken the wrong train.. or wrong bus... i believe my only problem is learning german... we had a lesson on friday... 4 hours... but... its too intense... i'm not a good language learner when it comes to practical... i can read/write better than speak... initially i think... like.. i think now i can recognize and be able to read what i've learned... yet... cannot speak it :P not that i'm afraid.. just i cannot recall it so speak it... but.. hopefully in another 3 months... i'll get better...

i decided to keep this blog more of a dialogue/diary entries... and the swiss blog more of a documentation... here i can be casual... speak freely... so plz have a look at the swiss blog... i've made entries for each of the past 7 days... enjoy!

Hello from Bern!!!
I have arrived safely in Bern. Thanks to all for caring and asking about my arrival. Thanks to my sis for posting a comment to address everyone!!!
I have not been able to get internet connection until now. It was only 4 days yet it seemed like i was disconnected from the world for years ... oh how reliant we are now to the internet to stay in touch. Tonight i just redownloaded new skype and added money to my account and called home... it was very good.. clear connection and cheap!!!
so... about my time here... i will update on my swiss blog soon, its here:
