counting down to Laura's big day!!!

i dunno if i can say things are running smoothly and according to plan... but the wedding is much closer than we realize... and so the fun goes on

i'll add a link from my blog.. hehe... there's lots of good stories and pictures up of the couple... laura and tom does every crazy thing there is in the world.... plus for guys.. a must read is the proposal story... its the best i've heard so far... and its quite hard to beat!

i cant believe one of my best friends will be married... my eyes fills with tears everytime i think about it... i think i will cry many times on the big day... its just 2 months away... oh my... i wonder if laura knows how close it is... she might freak out...

but... after what they've been through... i know this is right for her.. and she will be very happy... a very lucky lady :)

June 24th ~ where was i ?

where was i?.. where have i been for a year?... kinda feels like a dream...
i think i've been split into two for the past year... my "ka" left me for a year.... ("ka"=soul, egyptian) i feel like i was working without a soul... why has it taken me 1 year b4 i re-awaken my soul?... anyone know what i mean? last time this year... i believe i embarked on something i should have known would only end in disaster... why do we do things, although clearly knowing the results, still attempt to find possible changes? ... is it at collision points like these that cause our "ka" to leave us? ... (haha... who understands me?)

well ... for many years my girls and i have a had a tradition to get together every Canada Day ... there were a few we had missed ... i think many of which was because of me ... well... i remember last year... i had spent canada day in japan... nagoya to be exact :) , the year b4... oh... i went on a trip with mabel and cally... but... b4 that... it was at the beaches... and... the one b4... we did something.. i remember... haha.. forgetful me..

but.. this tradition kinda started from highschool... it was easier then.. we had less plans... haha....now... we all have our own lives and (the guys) ... maybe this year it will be our last as a group?... well.. at least next year... we will have a baby in our group (haha.. big exaggeration... sorry)... no... not exactly.. but things will be different... who knows where i'll be... and the 2 ja's are off.... kristy... (always a mystery).... i'm looking forward to this year... i know i've finally found my "ka" back... and i'm working in unison... i will have a good time this summer...

i love you girls so much (+ "karrot" in hk) haha... i miss you all... where ever you are... thx for always being there for me :)

June 22nd ~ Convo

My big day!!! .... haha.. finally... after 5 years of hard work... i arrived to receive my piece of paper... and... to my lucky surprise... a stainless steel coin.. haha :)

i was trying to load my pics in msn space... then it said i exceeded limit... chea... so dumb.... so.. i have to load the rest here... sorry for the ppl i missed on msn space... below are more of my freinds... :)

i took the robe out early.... and went up to parliament hill... its my auntie and uncle's first time in ottawa... so.. had to take them to the hill... below is our group!!! ray, anita and i.... dont u just love the pink?
my family... and the convo stage... set up in the field house... sigh..... its already better than i expected... i'm not complaining... i did have a good time.. just too long.. hahamaddy!!!! i missed her so much when she went to hk... i'm so glad she is back... arent we pretty?.. hehe.... congrats to us!!!ivan... and i ... he's going to china to work lu... good luck!!! take care... come back to visit! .. or maybe i'll visit u sometime :) ray and vincent.... big ray... hope he finds job soon... i know he can!!!... vincent.. way to go... already off in making big money!!!.. me... haha.. waiting for that someone to come by.. haha... just joking... i need a break after this year (2 terms) with tom... no good to health.. haha

June 22nd ~ furniture shopping

so.. is there a point in this whole make over for my room?... i mean... the first is.. getting my own room... i havent had one for the past 4 years... and... dun really know if i need one... since... by the time i get my room organized... it'll be end of august... and does everyone know what that means?.. its moving to ottawa time... haha..

so.. whats the point?

my mom insists... haha.. i think she wants to keep me in the house.. or at least.. the spirit of me.. haha... well... my precious belongings... my treasures.. will be in my room... a safe place at last... but.. for me... i know i will not live in my room much... at least i have no plan to for the next year...

2 years of school still ahead... and... i love to travel too much... i rather see other places... than stay at home... maybe thats what i'm telling myself... this is the last summer for a long time i'm dedicating to toronto.... i think i miss home... i really do... i consider toronto my home... my family is here... at times like now... i need my family.. and friends the most... most of my best friends are in toronto... i feel safe here... :) thx guys/gals....

so... buy furniture or not?... i've tried asking my mom.. she insists... so ... i guess on with buying a bed... desk.. and bookshelves... i do have a lot of books i want to keep... book shelves are what i've been looking for.... its good :)
so... like this color?... dark brown... i think i'm going with dark brown wood stain furniture... hehe.. i'm thinking of painting too.. in the coming week... i will start ... have to decide color.. fun fun!!!

haha... an old "white" ppl saying... not to be racist... but its an english saying... something i dun hear at home....

what do ppl think of this joke? when my friend told me this joke... he had said guys dun speak highly of women/marriage/etc... men always complain about women... and thats how the joke came up...

i think it can be a little rude... and.. not so nice of a thing to joke about... but u have to admit there is some truth to it... no? i laughed... cuz.. its true.. especially coming from a male perspective... assuming a male came up with the joke... thats up for discussion too... (who came up with the joke?)

what's funny is.. how i interpreted the joke... its different than what he had in mind... comes down to maybe a difference of the sexes?

my friend saw the joke as ... (i believe).. seeking others/alternative to wife... therefore having to pay money ...

as for me... i saw it as: pay for sex... (as in)... the consequences of sex.... is commitment/marriage...

June 12th ~ Where's summer?

hi everyone, summer is where? (i'm just complaining cuz i want the sun!! well... not just the sun.. but the heat too!!!!) ... i'm waiting to go to the beach... hang out... play some beach volleyball... all that... and.. this weather is not friendly...

anyways... i went for i think my first measure up... haha... it was odd/interesting... didnt take a long time... i think the highlight was not letting the lady put a measuring tape to me... but how i got to bramalea go station.. hehe...

i'm not really familiar with toronto public transport... especially the extensive go-bus system... but i'm surprised at the coverage it serves... i checked the website... from langstaff to bramalea... one bus... the bus starts at finch... heads up yonge.. then across hwy 7... well.. that bus does not exist... i think... cuz.. i didnt see it come by...

in any case... laura had told me i had to make a switch at york university... ok.. it made sense... so.. i still went to langstaff.. (closest station to me)... my mom just dropped me off... it was in the middle of no where.. well.. there was the go-train station.. but i was on the south side... and... it was under construction... i felt like i was waiting in the middle of no where... for the totoro bus... (for those that know what i mean)... anyways.. a bus finally pulled up... it said.. york university... alright... i got on... told driver i wanted "bramalea"... and he gave me a ticket... told me i had to switch at york... so.. that was a nice ride... quick... and.. york university... my.. its changed a lot...

from the last time i've seen it... nothing was recognizable now... they've done a nice job... especially the bus station/exchange area... made me wanna walk around... but i had to catch the next bus... i think i will go back another day.. and walk around all the buildings and campus...

so... when i checked the buses... i realized i had missed one... errr... so... i waited for the next... i guess it was a smooth transfer... ok... up to now.. i knew what to expect.. but next stop.. bramalea... its totally new... i had no idea where it was... what it looked it...
haha.. but laura was good with instructions... and bus driver helped... i had no problem getting off at the right stop... it was just weird... cuz.. i'm still in toronto.. yet.. its so unfamiliar to me...

finally i met up with laura.. then kristy arrived by go-train... and its all good from there...

conclusion: g0 bus is the way to go!!! good service... in less than $5... i consider it alright... there's lots to see in toronto.. lots more to explore... i think i will do that this summer... my sketchbook... nikon fm2... and pentax optio 430... hehe...

oh... and animated movie yesterday "over the hedge"... haha.. its so funny... a spin on living in suburbia... and how raccoons and squirrels raid our garbage cans?... hehe... thats all i'll say... i recommend it.. for a good laugh!!!

hihi to all~ i'm home!!! i think i arrived home b4 all of your postcards... haha.... silly slow mail

anyways... b4 i fill you in on the last 12 days of no internet access.. haha... i've gone through some mail and found some interesting things i want to share!

its amazing what they are doing with the waterfront... or at least the city's attempt... but i think the winning team : west 8 from amsterdam has some interesting ideas...

i cant wait to see it in reality down by the waters... after visiting 9 countries in 18 days.. you realize why european cities are all so beautiful... its cuz they all have some body of water close to.... every city... u can view by some sort of cruise... they all have bridges.. and islands and canals... anyways.. i think naturally ppl are attracted to water... at least i know i am :)

this is a floating filtrating system of plants surrounded by a floating boardwalk in the shape of maple leaf... the plants work with the "silos" building sitting by waterfront (as if anyone can miss them)... the silos will be converted to become a filtering building.. very interesting idea.. a good one too
