cameras/dslr/canon/nikon ~

questions questions questions...

it seems that nowadays.. whenever i'm heading out with a group of friends... someone always shows up with a dslr... often enough.. its someone new getting into the sport of photography...

usually i'm eager to find more ppl interested.. but at the same time... most i know are wasting their time/money... its sad that ppl have been dragged into buying equipment they probably wont fully use/get bored of before they've really used the camera to its full potential...

i hope ppl reading this wont be quoting me.. but .. i do stick to my belief that marketing can get ppl to buy lots of useless things...another issue that puzzles me is, why is it that ppl with all the money arent the ones passionate for photography.. yet those making the most beautiful photos.. are saving every penny to buy better equipment?? i've pondered and pondered... (it is a good issue to debate over)

never the less... one question i get a lot is: canon vs nikon.... its surely everyone's question when it comes to buying dslr's
personally.. my preference has always been nikon.. only for one reason.. because of the numerous of fabulous old lenses from the "manual" camera age i have... it only makes sense to upgrade to digital by buying a body...
it doesnt mean i dont like canon... i always recommend canon's to other ppl. especially compact/point and shoot cameras...

i think i agree with him on most points... and even his other articles... most of it is his personal opinion.. but i think its unbiased and worth considering...

last thing i have to say is:
if you're new to dslr's... please consider actually learning how to take photos (ie. artistic merits of it).. before buying a camera... only then will u understand what it is u really need.. and get the most out of your dollar!!!!

the best MEMORIES of CSP9 (part 1)

i have finally arrived back in hk after almost 3 weeks of travelling... there is a lot to catch up on...

CSP9 has been an awesome experience... although all the "downs"... in the end... all i can remember is the "ups"... what is miss the most.. is everyone of you below:

although not everyone is in this pic... it was the first group pic of group 2!!!! this was the very first night... (july 1st - canada day!!!)... we were gathered after the welcome party.... i think i enjoy the picture so much more now.. because i will always remember each and everyone of you!!!!

thats the end of part 1...... the rest wont be up for a while... for i'm going to thailand tmr!!! yay yay yay! at the moment... i'm feeling so lonely... having been travelling with so many ppl... (over 240) for the past 17 days... then all of a sudden.. it was down to nicole/melissa and i in shanghai... and then now... just me in my room in hk....

hard to imagine... but.. there's dinner gathering already this evening!!! (looking forward to it)... CSP9 - group 2 will continue to live on!!!!
