and solar eclipses?

first of all, thx for everyone's comments on the previous entry... its only been up for 2 days... and already i've touched on a sensitive topic... (i'm sure there's others who have not yet read my blog who might want to contribute... plz do... this is getting rather interesting... i'm talking to j9!! i know you'll add a note)

so.. to recap on some highlights on the comments:

from lingling: "hmm i don't think guys are 'always' calm!! they have their 'periods' too, (ie. like random solar eclipses or something haha) and fluctuations just like a woman, just not as frequent!"
(love you 'ling'...i agree... men do have their periods)

from kristy: "My goodness girly, you gave me such a good laugh when I got to men is like x=0. Great concept! Here's my qwasi-solution to this man/woman time problem: in order to bring men and women closer, all women have to do is to lower our magnitude by doing this: y=aSin(theta), as long as [a]{1. So so then at least men would have a chance to be closer to our up and downs or even overlap with us if it's true that they only pretend to be a x=0. Then I bet you would say, why do women do all work? My answer to that is because women are just smarter. Case close! Haha i love your creative nerdy-ness sillyna...kristy

ok... plz excuse my 'nerdy' friends and their biased love for me :P
the thing is... only girls have commented... where are the guys? cant face the truth?... what are some opinions?... well.. to keep this conversation going... the "friend" that inspired my blog entry has replied to me with the following:

  • "solar eclipses are not caused by the sun... but the phenomenon occurs when the sun is being blocked by some objects (planets, etc)..... which cause ppl on earth to have a PERSPECTIVE of an inconsistence intensity of the sun..
  • what i am trying to say is you that are right "men are emotionally consistent".. but when ppl have the perspective on men's emotion inconsistency.. which might be becuz.. the "person" having that perspective is currently being inconsistent... (ie:.. when solar eclispe occured which was caused by the "MOON" blocking some of the light from the SUN). .and that's my thought.....basically.. its the inconsistency of women's judgment that lead them to think that men are inconisistent!!!!"
(note: i think he's a little embarrassed to say it himself... perhaps dun have the guts?.. i dunno... it doesnt matter)

i'm not sure if i should comment on it... i think i will leave it open for all of you!!! i think someone should throw in the comets, the venus/mars theories, the black hole, and the worm holes... what about stars, clusters, (ohoh.. j9 its time to get jay!!! we needs his astrophysics contributions)

my final note: why are humans so facinated with space explorations? perhaps our discussions here is searching for the same mysterious answers....

concept of time (sun vs moon)

i had an interesting discussion about time with a friend today... the question he asked was "i dont understand why she needs more time?"...clearly it is an impatient male wanting answers from a women who does not respond to 'his' timely deadlines...

the problem i had was... why doesnt he understand?... i had to ponder on this for a minute... i had to put everything in a greater perspective... what is the cosmos that regulates us all?... what differs men/women (sun and moon)???? why was his concept of time so different that there was no way he understood what i meant????

this is what i thought of:

the sun.. is a constant ball of fire? its cycle is daily... sunrise/sunset.. all happen in a day... key is: daily and constant...

the moon... a still, serene, harmless rock (haha.. maybe not)... its cycle is monthly (makes sense huh?)... it has full moon, new moon at the extremes.. and crescent, quarter, and gibbous... there is never a clear distinction because it is constantly moving and changing... the key here is monthly and change....

already there is a significant difference...

another analogy i used was the sine/cosine waves in graphical form (i had to resort to ways to illustrate to a typical/logical science nerd)... personally i prefer the sun/moon analogy.. much more lyrical and cosmos relating....anyways... back to the waves:

women's emotions are like the 'sine' wave... but it is not just with emotions... our idea of time too is regulated monthly.. like the moon and its phases... the same cycle can be mapped onto one frequency of the sine wave... if 'zero' is the mid point, the normal middle... women only hits it twice in a cycle (for a very very temporal moment).. while the rest of the time its either in the positive or negative end.... once a month it is moving away from zero, rising to its monthly high tides.. and quickly going down hill.. crossing zero yet again... and descending.. waaaaaay down into the negative lowlow.. (time when u dont wanna mess with a women).. of course also for a short time before rebounding up again... crossing zero again to begin a new cycle, the start to a new frequency or a new month...

no wonder a man cannot grasp women's concept of time... (as a women.. i can barely grasp it)......

to relate a man on the same graph as the women's... my view towards a male's emotion is a x=0 (constant, linear function).. it is 100% constant... no monthly cycle... and calm...

was i able to communicate the two diverging concepts of time to my dear friend?... his reply was...

"i believe women is more like the 'tan' function... cuz.. sine its restricted to -1 { x { 1 , while tan is "undeterminent".....

my reaction: hahaha

perhaps some things will always keep men/women apart... many attempts has been made scientificaly to control time.. but i argue... we can never control time.. our different understandings of it will always keep it a mystery of uncertainty (the gray zone!!!)

[in response to my 1st comment: men are like all humans.. so yes they have their unstable times, therefore arent always constant.. BUT .. the main point is.. they hide their inconsistency.. because they wished to be seen as consistent.. therefore x=0 is a good representation :P ]

how old r u?

got an email today about the bright side to old age, but what i find the most interesting is the passage below:

"Sure, over the years my heart has been broken. How can your heart not break when you lose a loved one, or when a child suffers, or evenwhen somebody's beloved pet gets hit by a car? But broken hearts are what give us strength and understanding and compassion. A heart never broken is pristine and sterile and will never know the joy of being imperfect."

another quote from a drama:

"the joy's and surprises of life is not being able to know tomorrow!"

so unless we step forward... and be brave about moving on.. we will never see the light of tomorrow!...plus there is great merit to 'bumpy roads'... it is through challenges in which you learn life's greatest lessons... and... i truly believe in the joys of imperfection... or the joys of sadness... it is the imperfection that makes perfection... the sadness that gives us happiness... without the opposing contrast, there wouldnt be the other....

to apply to life/work/love/family/friends... everything.. its the same...
not understanding the 'other side'... simply means you have not fully 'lived' your life...

(well.. besides the wrinkles... good that i have asian blood.. my grandma still hardly have wrinkles.. she's 80 :P)
