Life drawing ~ final session this term

so here it is... the piece after the last session this term:

i dont think i am done... there's so parts i'm not quite happy with yet... so.. i'll be working on it some more next term... then.. i will begin incorporating it into my thesis... using it as my exploratory studies... :P (since it was suggested by laura i give some description... i guess i will try to do so..)

as u can see.. body parts are flying all over the place... but if u look carefully... the position its in now... the women figure is upright... while the man is horizontal... the canvas was set up this way, so the two figures would cross at 90 degrees... perpendicular.. (as oppose to last year both figures were parallel on the same orientation)

then... it is hard to say how i went about doing what i did... more just intuition.. the model poses.. then i pick a spot..and start drawing... i guess i get drawn to certain details as you can see how i've repeated the areas i like... i really love the spine... and... the collar bone... both really lovely to draw...

now below some interesting areas i see differently now that its captured on photo: this.. i'm really amazed at the thighs near the bottom... especially the one with red/purples/blues... i'm surprised how 3D that looks...
this... somehow is interesting.. i dunno how to describe...
this.. just interesting relations... overlaps ... and movement... multiple vantage points... very cubist :P

November 21 ~ life drawing

2nd last week:

Nov 14, yet another life drawing

had another session today... and... sad news is:
the male model (duncan) had a heart attack... i hope he gets better... i felt terribly sorry when i heard of his incident....

in any case, tom will always bring in another model... and.. i still continue to draw... :P
there's 2 classes left i think... oh boy.. i gotta finish some how...

this part i worked on today.. his abs are nice... and a few dark touches/line work.. really punches the canvas i think
now onto some fun last night... i was at sean's apartment.. very nicely furnished...we made some good food...if u can see.. its beef and golden mushroom rolls.. with dumpling and rice... yes. .its japanese.. (seans request)... and i was trying to teach him how to make those rolls... sean made most of them.. i only did the frying... so.. we had a good wine.. and good food... and nice chats :)

Nov 7 - Life Drawing

i believe this is the first time i'm posting the "day of"... fresh out of the D50... this is the update on the drawing from this morning...

it was one of those less ambitious days... the vib wasnt in my arms... i did manage to clarify a few things (whether it was my mind... or the drawing)... might not be obvious... i'm sure those with a clear mind (or good understanding of my mind) will comprehend....

hint: i couldnt feel my legs at the end of the session!!! (maybe i'm just getting old)

looking forward to next week's class.... when we once again rotate the canvas 90 clockwise... should add new dynamics...

so... once this deadline is over on thursday... i'll try to post some updates on the past month since i've started school.. i really havent been soo busy.. no excuse as to why i havent been posting.. i think its just my life now is not as exciting as it was in hk, and the lack of exciting photos has slowed me down in blogging....
